Haggs Lane, Cartmel, Cumbria: Archaeological Geophysical Survey
Greenlane Archaeology Ltd commissioned Phase Site Investigations Ltd to carry out a magnetic gradient survey to the south of Haggs Lane, Cartmel, Cumbria. The MACS data was collected using a traverse interval of 0.5 m and readings were taken between 0.1 and 0.15 m intervals. The majority of the anomalies identified by this survey relate to modern material / objects, agricultural activity and geological / pedological variations. There is no clear evidence in the magnetic data for archaeological features or activity. There are several anomalies of an uncertain origin and it is unclear if they relate to natural features / variations, agricultural activity or infilled features.
