John Spence Community High School, Preston Road, North Shields, Tyne & Wear: Pottery Assessment

Greenlane Archaeology was commissioned by SLR Consulting Ltd to assess the pottery recovered from archaeological work undertaken at John Spence Community High School in August 2015. In total, 14 pottery fragments were recovered during the archaeological work, from nine or ten individual objects, with refitting fragments from contexts 42 and 98. These all dated to the post-medieval period, apart from a fragment of Buff White ware (comprising two refitting pieces), which was dated to the late 12th to early/mid-13th century.
